Dental titanium alloy discs have become the core material in the field of modern oral restoration due to their excellent performance. This special alloy is made of high-purity titanium and aluminum, vanadium and other elements in a precise ratio, showing irreplaceable advantages in biocompatibility, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.
Its most notable feature is its near-perfect biocompatibility. A dense oxide film will spontaneously form on the surface of titanium alloy, which makes human tissue almost immune to rejection. This feature greatly reduces the risk of inflammation around implants. Clinical data show that the ten-year survival rate of titanium alloy implants can reach more than 95%, far exceeding traditional cobalt-chromium alloy materials.
In terms of mechanical properties, titanium alloys show an amazing strength-to-weight ratio. The density is only 60% of that of steel, but the tensile strength can reach more than 900MPa, and the elastic modulus is closer to natural bone tissue. This feature effectively avoids the "stress shielding" effect. The disc-shaped design is particularly suitable for making implant abutments, which can evenly disperse the bite force and prevent bone resorption. Precision CNC machining technology can process it into an ultra-thin structure of 0.3mm while maintaining excellent deformation resistance.
The corrosion resistance is also outstanding. In the complex electrolyte environment of saliva, its annual corrosion rate is less than 0.001mm, which is far better than stainless steel. After anodizing, the surface can form colorful interference colors, which is convenient for identification and positioning during surgery and can improve the aesthetics.
The processing technology advantages should not be ignored. The excellent plasticity and low thermal conductivity of titanium alloy enable it to be processed by precision forming technologies such as laser cutting and electrospark machining. Modern CAD/CAM systems can process it into a microporous structure with a precision of 50μm. This porous surface promotes osteoblast attachment and increases the bone bonding speed by 40%.
The material also has excellent image compatibility. There are almost no artifacts during CT examination, and there is no magnetic interference in the MRI environment, providing a clear image basis for postoperative evaluation. It is worth mentioning that its thermal expansion coefficient is highly matched with natural enamel, which effectively avoids microleakage of the restoration caused by temperature changes.
With the application of 3D printing technology, titanium alloy discs can now produce personalized implants with bionic trabecular structures. This innovative design increases the initial stability by 30% and shortens the healing period to 3-4 weeks. The environmental protection characteristics are also outstanding. It is 100% recyclable and conforms to the concept of sustainable development of modern medicine.
